Netfilx: DAREDEVIL Season 2 Now Available

Season 2 of Netflix's DAREDEVIL is now available for streaming! Squee!!!

"Dark forces are tearing Hell's Kitchen apart once again, but this time Daredevil may have to choose between the city and his friends."

I enjoyed the first season of the Marvel series, although I had one quibble - the show is shot so darkly it's difficult to even see the characters sometimes.

Maybe that's a subtle nod to the lead character's blindness; maybe it's just a moody kind of thing. A little more light would really have helped me though :)

In any case, I will be watching the new season. Leading man Charlie Cox is extremely watchable.

Jumping from the top of the WTC at 3am

Three men recently turned themselves in to NYPD admitting to this BASE jump from 1 WTC.

The video starts dark, but you adjust. They take their time building up the courage to jump. The adrenaline is palpable. You take a ride with one of the jumpers via helmet camera. Pretty amazing.

Police told the Daily News that former WTC ironworker James Brady, 32, Andrew Rossig, 33, Marco Markovich, 27, and lookout Kyle Hartwell, 29, were charged with burglary, reckless endangerment and jumping from a structure before being released on $3,500 bail.

Rossig told the Daily News that the skydivers accessed Ground Zero by slipping through a hole in the fence and then "just kind of walked in." The New Jersey teen similarly made his way into the tower without encountering much security.

If the helmet camera footage Brady filmed pulls in any money, Rossig's attorney told the newspaper, the skydivers plan to donate the proceeds to a charity for families of 9/11 victims.

World's highest BASE jump from Mount Everest

BASE jump = jump off of a fixed object: buildings, antennas, bridges, and earth.

From the YouTube clip description: Nearly 60 years to the day after the first ascent up Mount Everest, Russian extreme sport star Valery Rozov (48) flew off the north face of Mount Everest - the world's highest BASE jump ever - 7220 meters (23,688ft) above sea level.

It took him four days to climb from the base camp to the jumping location. At precisely 2:30 p.m. local time he leaped despite adverse weather conditions with temperatures -18 Celsius.

Because the cliff at the top was not very high, the initial moments of the leap in the rarified high altitude air were the most critical phase. Rozov needed more time than usual in the thin air to transition from freefall to flying. After that he flew for nearly a full minute at speeds of about 200 km/h (125 mph) along the north face before he landed safely on the Rongbuk glacier - at an altitude of 5,950 meters.

Wingsuit diving between buildings in Rio de Janeiro at 6am

Towleroad shares this amazing video of two men flying between buildings in "wingsuits" like something out of a Batman movie:

Ludovic Woerth and Jokke Sommer dive from gliders into Rio de Janeiro, landing in a park behind the 38-story Ventura Corporate Towers after flying between its double skyscrapers (at the top of the image below).

Wrote Sommer: "Ludovic and I doing a wingsuit flight into Rio de Janeiro. We did not have permission to fly into the city, but to respect the commercial air traffic we did the jump 05:45 in the morning. The first flights arrive at 06:05."

Pretty scary but cool at the same time.
