Staring over the edge of a high cliff, hunky Hardy pauses for just a second before jumping into the ocean as his voiceover says:

"There was not a goal in mind. Only questioning the world around us. What can be different? What can be better? This questioning of the status quo has a rippling effect. It leads us down a different path. It is the questions that set us apart. And in the end, discovering who we are."

At the end, Tom stares back at companions who have yet to jump.

I'm guessing it has to do with not being afraid to take a leap. But, I'm just happy to look at a wet and wild Tom Hardy.

In scenes from Driven to Extreme: Coldest Road, Tom Hardy and former Formula one driver Mika Salo brave a plunge in a frozen Yukon river followed by a life saving sauna.

Warning some scenes may contain a naked Tom Hardy wearing a felt hat while being beaten on his most excellent bare rump with a bush.

The TV series is described as such: Hollywood actors join forces with former Formula One driver Mika Salo and 2003 World Superbike champion Neil Hodgson, to take on the world's most extreme roads.

I'm not asking questions - I don't have to understand. I just get to enjoy Tom and his furry, naked goodness :)

Tom Hardy Addresses Recent Sexuality Question: "I'm Entitled To My Privacy"

In a lengthy interview with The Daily Beast, actor Tom Hardy explains his reaction to a reporter's recent question about his "ambiguous sexuality:"

“I think everybody is entitled to the right to privacy. There should be elegant ways to approach any topic, and there’s a time and place to approach anything and have a good, common sense conversation about anything. I do think that there’s a responsibility for people to own the way that they speak publicly. This doesn’t stop us from being human beings; some things are private. I’m under no obligation to share anything to do with my family, my children, my sexuality—that’s nobody’s business but my own. And I don’t see how that can have anything to do with what I do as an actor, and it’s my own business. If you knew me as a friend, then sure, we’d talk about anything. But that was a public forum, and for someone to inelegantly ask a question that seemed designed entirely to provoke a reaction, and start a topic of debate… It’s important destigmatizing sexuality and gender inequality in the workplace, but to put a man on the spot in a room full of people designed purely for a salacious reaction? To be quite frank, it’s rude. If he’d have said that to me in the street, I’d have said the same thing back: ‘I’m sorry, who the fuck are you?’

"What he had to talk about was actually interesting, but how he did it was so inelegant. And I appreciate that I could probably have more grace as a human being, but I’m just a bloke. I’m just a man. And I’m just a man doing a job. I’m not a role model for anyone, and you’re asking me something about my private life in a room full of people. I don’t want to discuss my private life with you. I don’t know you! Why would I share that with a billion people? Also, if you felt it was so important for people to feel confident to talk about their sexuality, why would you put somebody on the spot in a room full of people and decide that was the time for them to open up about their sexual ambiguity? There’s also nothing ambiguous about my sexuality, anyway. I know who I am. But what does that have to do with you? And why am I a part of something now that, however legitimate, I haven’t offered my services for? It’s not about what he and his publication stands for, none of that is offensive, and on the contrary, it’s very admirable, and an important issue. But how I was asked was incredibly inelegant, and I just thought it was disrespectful and counterproductive to what he stands for.”

Tom Hardy Shuts Down Reporter's Questions Regarding His Sexuality Like A Boss

At a Toronto International Film Festival press conference for the new film Legend starring Randy Report fave Tom Hardy, Daily Xtra reporter Graeme Coleman learned that Hardy doesn't suffer fools who ask foolish questions easily.

Here's how it went down:

Coleman: In the film your character is very open about his sexuality. But given interviews you’ve done in the past your own sexuality seems a bit more ambiguous. Do you find it hard for celebrities to talk to media about their sexuality?

Hardy: What on earth are you on about?

Coleman: I was referring to an interview given to Attitude magazine a few years ago.

Hardy: But what is your question?

Coleman: I was wondering if you find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality.

Hardy: I don’t find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality. Are you asking me about my sexuality?

Coleman: Um, sure.

Hardy: Why?

Coleman: Um…

Hardy: Thank you.

Tom Hardy Loves Dogs

I. Just. Can't. Take. Much. More...

As if his talent wasn't enough. As if the fact that he's easy on the eyes wasn't enough.

NOW - we get the full picture of Tom Hardy. He is a dog lover.

Vanity Fair has gathered together a multitudinous list of dog mentions in interviews over the years. And it's quite the list.

Just this excerpt from a Details article from earlier this year:

“Do you believe in serendipity? I do. No such thing as coincidence. So here's my dog, right? [Displays a photo on his phone] His name was Mad Max when I got him. Like the first dog I ever had. Anyway, I fell in love with Max's mom, Cass, when I was 16. My friend had her. And I was like, ‘If she ever has puppies, please can I have a dog?’ He was like, ‘Yeah, sure.’ And then my friend disappeared, and I never saw him again. But I went to visit his mom, see how she was and say hello. And she said, ‘Oh, we've got something for you here.’ And I open up the door, and there was Mad Max. And I was like, ‘I don't like that name.’ ‘Cause he's not mad, he's just misunderstood.”

And then there's this bit from Glamour in 2014 where Tom admits to leaving the TV on for the dogs. (I do this all the time for my pack):

“I'm into Come Dine with Me at home, religiously. I’m an absolute fanatic,” said Tom, 36, adding: “I put it on for the dogs as well when I go out. They've got to feel that someone’s in the house.”

Sunday Swoon: Tom Hardy "Mad Max: Fury Road" Covers EW

Do I really need to say anything here?

George Miller, original director of the series - Mad Max (1979), Mad Max 2 (1981) and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) - returned to helm Tom Hardy in Mad Max: Fury Road. The movies follow a former law enforcement officer as he contends with criminals in a dystopic Australian wasteland.

Oscar winner Charlize Theron co-stars.

Mad Max: Fury Road hits theaters May 15th.

Randy Report favorite Tom Hardy covers Esquire Magazine for their May issue.

Among other things, Hardy addresses stories that he's "difficult:"

'I have a reputation for being difficult,' he says. 'And I am. I am actually. But I'm not unreasonable. It used to be that if somebody hurt me I'd lash out a bit, in order to get them to stop. It ultimately comes from fear. If I cause enough of a mess, then people will never ask me again to do something I don't want to do. But that sort of backfires after a while so you don't want to do that. You grow up.'

Empire Magazine has the very good taste to feature Tom Hardy on the cover of it's February issue in anticipation for the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road:

The February issue's cover story is a journey through Mad Max lore, with Miller himself acting as your escort across a two-decade-long Mad Max: Fury Road making-of that took in triumphs, disasters and even an invasion of rogue amphibians.

The writer/director opens up about everything from Mel Gibson's early involvement to Heath Ledger's possible casting and finally Hardy's take on Rockatansky.

For fans of the character - and of singular sci-fi visions that have lasted the years - it's unmissable.

TV: Hunky Tom Hardy To Star In New FX Series "Taboo"

FX has picked up a new drama starring the very hunky Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) as an adventurer in Africa. The show is expected to premiere in 2016 with an eight episode season.

From EW:

Titled Taboo, the series is set in 1813 and follows James Keziah Delaney (Hardy), “a rogue adventurer who returns from Africa with 14 ill-gotten diamonds to seek vengeance after the death of his father. Refusing to sell the family business to the East India Company, he sets out to build his own trade and shipping empire and finds himself playing a very dangerous game.”

The project was created by Hardy and his father, Chips Hardy. Taboo is executive produced by Ridley Scott (Blade Runner), among others, and written by Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things). “FX is the perfect partner to engage with this dark, fantastic world that Tom and Steven have created,” Scott said.

Scene stealer: Tom Hardy vs Rocco the dog in THE DROP

In a scene from the just released mob drama The Drop, Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace have a cute scene in a pet store where Rocco the dog may have just stolen my attention from the handsome Hardy.

I have to admit I agree with Noomi's character - "Rocco" is a better name for a dog. "Mike," while a great name for a husband, doesn't really land for me in dog names.

The film also features James Gandolfini, in one of his final film roles.

In theaters now.

Tom Hardy to play twin gangsters in upcoming "Legend"

Hunky Tom Hardy is set to play twin gangsters in the upcoming film Legend.

The Kray twins, Ronnie and Reggie, apparently made quite the noise back in London organizing The Firm, a gang that ran East London's underworldduring the 50s and 60s.

But it wasn't just organized crime the two became known for.

The Backlot reports:

But perhaps more interesting than the Kray Twins’ penchant for criminality was their love lives. The Daily Mail (always a reliable source…) has gone on to claim that “Ronnie and Reggie Kray were both gay and Ronnie never consummated his marriage [...] although Ronnie admitted his homosexuality in his mid-teens, his brother Reggie was also gay and his marriage to Frances Shea was a sham.”

Hardy, commenting on the confirmed role, had this to say: “I’ve got to work out how to play both twins, which will be fun. It’s another experiment and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Tom Hardy on "wish list" for Marvel Comics upcoming "Dr. Strange"

Tom Hardy (!!!) and Benedict Cumberbatch seem to be at the top of Marvel's wish list to star in an upcoming film adaptation of "Doctor Strange."

From Deadline:

Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created the character in 1963 as a neurosurgeon who serves as the Sorcerer Supreme, protecting Earth against magical and mystical threats with powers of sorcery, mysticism, and martial arts.

Hardy, by way of playing "Bane" in The Dark Knight Rises, is closer. He just starred in the superb Steven Knight-directed drama Locke, and he wrapped Child 44 and Mad Max: Fury Road.

Cumberbatch, coming off August: Osage County and 12 Years A Slave, next will be seen starring in the Morten Tyldum-directed Imitation Game, which The Weinstein Company opens on November 21 during Oscar season.

Both are super-busy these days, but I'm down for a hunky "Doc Strange" via Tom Hardy. Where do I buy the tickets?

I recently reported here that Tom Hardy was cast in the upcoming bio-pic of Elton John's life.

And yes - Tom is cast as Elton.  Hardly type-casting, but who cares?

Tom recently revealed in an interview that singing isn't his strongest suit. When asked if he’d be doing the singing he said:

“Yeah, I hope so. Otherwise I’ll have probably failed, right? But that’s terrifying me. I can’t hold a tune to save my life.”

I have no worries.  Tom is a formidable and creative actor, no matter what he does.

Plus, I can always turn down the volume and just watch.

Surprisingly, Hardy says he's not the rough and touch he-man  he plays in many of his roles:

"I have always been frightened with men," Hardy said. "To the point where I couldn't go into a gym because of the testosterone and I felt weak."

"I don't feel very manly," he continued. "I don't feel rugged and strong and capable in real life, not how I imagine a man ought to be. So I seek it, to mimic it and maybe understand it, or maybe to draw it into my own reality.

"People who are scary, they terrify me, but I can imitate them."

"I'm not a fighter. I'm a petit little bourgeois boy from London," he added. "I don't fight, I mimic."

Tom also talks frankly about substance abuse issues he faced earlier in life:

"I am f---ing lucky to be here, to be honest. Any near-death experience — if you're lucky enough to f---ing realize that it is one — is going to leave an indelible mark on you. And then you add shame and guilt and fear into that, it's a recipe for awareness if you have the ability to become aware from it. And good things can come back into your life."
