Lynda "Wonder Woman" Carter Set To Join TV Cast of "Supergirl"

There's a giddiness today in "comic book geekland" - and that includes me :)

As the television series Supergirl transfers from CBS to The CW for it's sophomore season, we get the news that Lynda Carter, known for her iconic role as "Wonder Woman," will be joining the series in a recurring role as President of the United States.

From TV Guide:

Earlier this year, executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti told TVGuide.com that they had approached Carter for the role earlier but scheduling made it impossible to include her in the first season.

"We're going to do it, we'll just do it next year," Kreisberg said. The Season 1 finale also hinted at Carter's turn when the president sent "her" thanks to Supergirl for saving the planet.

Carter is just the latest in a slew of casting additions to Supergirl's sophomore effort. The show is also adding Teen Wolf alum Tyler Hoechlin as Superman. Carter adds another powerful female actress into the frame though while it still remains to be seen how large of a part Calista Flockhart's Cat Grant will play in the new season. The CW and Warner Brothers had no comment on whether Flockhart would remain a series regular transition to a recurring character when TVGuide.com reached out earlier this month.

Carter's first appearance will be in the third episode of season 2 - Supergirl premieres Monday, Oct. 10 at 8/7c on The CW.

Lynda Carter sends message of support to Sunnie Kahle

Earlier this week, I posted about young Sunnie Kahle, an 8 year-old girl who was kicked out of her Christian grade school for not acting like her "God-ordained identity."  Basically, she's a tom-boy.  At age 8, she has no idea what "gender identity" is.

Today, Lynda Carter posted on her Facebook page a message of support to young Sunnie, proving once again that Lynda is, was and always will be a Wonder Woman.

Other guests the same day are the fab Lynda Carter and Las Vegas headliner and vocal impersonator Veronic.

Lindsay Wagner honored on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars

 Lindsay Wagner, known by gays around the globe as the original Bionic Woman, was honored on Saturday, May 12 with a ‘star’ on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars.

Adding an extra dose of fabulous to the commemorative ceremony was Wagner’s long-time friend and fellow icon Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman), who took time off from her current tour to present the actress with the award.

How fabulous is this?  Lynda Carter (the original Wonder Woman) with Lindsay Wagner (the original Bionic Woman) after one of Lynda's performances. 

Lynda is touring the country promoting her CD "Crazy Little Things."  

I think this is so cool.  I loved both Wonder Woman and The Bionic Woman in the 70s as a kid.  My first celeb crush was Lindsay Wagner.  I never missed her show.  Or TV movies.
