LGBTQ Campaign From NIKE: 'No One Wins Alone'

"Every winner knows victory doesn't happen alone," says the narrator in a new video from Nike released for Pride Month. "But none of us can truly win until the rules are the same for everyone."

The new clip features athletes and allies of the LGBTQ community who support equality for all athletes including WNBA's Brittany Griner, Sue Bird, Jewell Lloyd and Jordin Canada; skaters Fernando Bramsmark, Eric Koston, and Elissa Steamer; runners Kerron Clement, Caster Semenya, Scout Bassett and Chris Mosier; and soccer player Mark McKenzie.

Whether it’s as a team, within our community, or anyone who celebrates our victory as their own — progress only comes if we get there together.

Through decades of game-changing dedication from LGBTQIA+ athletes, those who work to make sport a more inclusive space for all, and the expression of icons like designer Gilbert Baker, the playing field becomes more level every day.

But as far as we’ve come, the game won’t be equal until we all win.

Just In Time For Mother's Day - HRC Announces "Moms For Equality"

With  LGBTQ youth still facing inordinately high rates of bullying, anxiety and depression today, no one is a more relentless protector than a mom.

So just in time for Mother’s Day, the Human Rights Campaign has announced a new “Moms for Equality” campaign featuring mothers of famous LGBTQs urging their fellow parents and allies to join the fight for equality.

Kelly Rippon, Sally Field, Betty DeGeneres, Jodie Patterson and more share tributes and truth in the new campaign, chronicling their journeys to becoming fierce advocates of LGBTQ people.

“Everyone, LGBTQ or otherwise, should get to live as freely as Adam does –– and, as one of HRC’s Moms for Equality, I’m committed to making that happen,” says Kelly Rippon, mother of out Olympic bronze medalist (and "America's sweetheart") Adam Rippon.

“This whole campaign has become such a family affair. All of us are in this fight for LGBTQ equality for Adam, of course, but also for all those young people like him who haven’t had an easy time openly being themselves," added Rippon. "They need allies to support them, now more than ever!”

“At 20, Sam came out proudly as a gay man: to us and to a world where some still hate you just for being different. Ten years later and that hate seems to have only gotten stronger,” says Oscar winner Sally Field writes in a touching tribute for the “Moms for Equality” campaign. “But with you, we can help stop hate in its tracks.”

“It’s on us to change the world for these kids and make it a better place. Just like my Ellen did 21 years ago and continues to do to this day,” says Betty DeGeneres, mother of Ellen DeGeneres. “I’m a proud Mom for Equality and a longtime member of HRC.”

Jodie Patterson, recently named one of “The 20 Most Influential Moms of 2018” by Family Circle magazine, shares, “As a mom, I’ve always wanted to fix things. But, as I soon realized, there wasn’t anything about Penelope that needed fixing. He, like every transgender child, was simply announcing to me and to the world how he truly saw himself.

“He was boldly claiming his identity,” said Patterson. “I joined the fight for transgender equality that very day and I’m here, seven years later, to keep that fight going as one of HRC’s Moms for Equality!”

New Campaign Spot Highlights Hillary's Support For LGBT Equality

New campaign spot from the Human Rights Campaign highlights Democrat Hillary Clinton's support for LGBTQ equality.

“Time and again Hillary Clinton has demonstrated through her words and actions that she is committed to fighting for full LGBTQ equality,” said HRC President Chad Griffin. “All of the progress we’ve achieved is at stake in this election. While Donald Trump continues his hate-filled campaign and threatens to drag us backwards, Hillary Clinton will fight to break down the walls of discrimination that still hold us back. It’s crucially important that pro-equality Americans turn out and vote for Hillary Clinton as the next President of the United States.”

Members Of Congress Introduce Resolution To Designate June 26th As "LGBT Equality Day"

This would most excellent, especially in light of the historic decisions which have occurred on June 26th.

U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (D-WA) introduced a resolution to designate June 26, as “LGBT Equality Day,” honoring the anniversary of three significant victories won at the U.S. Supreme Court for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) Americans.

“America should celebrate the progress we have made to pass on to the next generation a country that is more equal, not less equal. But we cannot mistake our progress for victory,” said Senator Baldwin. “We have more work to do in the march for fairness, freedom and full equality for the LGBT community. I believe America is ready to take the next steps forward and together we will break down barriers so that every American has an equal opportunity to dream the same dreams, chase the same ambitions, and have the same shot at success.”

“In the last two decades, our nation has seen the Defense of Marriage Act overturned, an end to the criminalization of same-sex conduct and now nationwide marriage equality — all through Supreme Court decisions handed down on June 26,” DelBene said. “But even as same-sex couples enjoy the right to marry in all 50 states, LGBT people continue to face violence, inequality and discrimination simply for who they are and who they love. Our resolution designates the 26th of June as ‘LGBT Equality Day’ not only to celebrate how far we’ve come, but also to acknowledge how much work remains to be done.”

During the past two decades, the U.S. Supreme Court has issued three different landmark rulings on the 26th of June that helped eliminate LGBT discrimination, affirm the dignity of same-sex couples and move our country toward a more perfect union:

· Lawrence v. Texas (June 26, 2003). Twelve years ago, the Court ruled on June 26, that states could no longer criminalize the private intimate conduct of same-sex couples, invalidating hateful and discriminatory laws in more than a dozen states.

· United States v. Windsor (June 26, 2013). Two years ago, the Court overturned Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) on June 26, and ruled that legally married same-sex couples deserve all of the rights, benefits and protections provided by marriage under federal law.

· Obergefell v. Hodges (June 26, 2015). One year ago, the Court ruled on June 26, that same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry, putting the United States on the right side of history and ending marriage discrimination once and for all.

Senator Baldwin and Congresswoman DelBene’s resolution is cosponsored by more than 175 members of Congress and is supported by the Center for American Progress, the Human Rights Campaign, the National LGBTQ Task Force Action Fund and the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus.

Jennifer Hudson Celebrates Love & Equality In New Music Video "I Still Love You"

Oscar and Grammy Award winner Jennifer Hudson releases her new music video, "I Still Love You," in time for Pride Month and exclusively for MTV and Logo TV.

The video tells the story of a father deciding at the last minute to attend his gay son's interracial wedding.

The premiere of “I Still Love You” supports Logo’s #All50 campaign, a platform for LGBT people and allies to stay up-to-date on the latest news and share personal stories in support of marriage equality leading up to the Supreme Court of the United States’ momentous decision.

Throughout June, Logo will showcase marriage equality messages on-air, debut interviews with celebrities and LGBT advocates on the #All50 site, and invite viewers to share personal stories about their support for marriage equality using #All50.

Logo will celebrate the march to marriage equality during the second annual Logo Trailblazer Honors, the largest televised Pride event, airing on Logo TV on Saturday, June 27, at at 8pm ET.

“There couldn’t be a better time to release this video from my new album,” said Jennifer Hudson. “I owe a large part of my success to the LGBT community, who has embraced and supported me from early on in my career, and music continues to prove a powerful platform to help promote LGBT equality.
