Some news items you might have missed:

• InstaHunk Stuart Reardon is giving his best "Clark Kent." I'm willing to bet there's a Superman under that shirt. I hear there's an opening for the role, btw...

• Out lesbian Rachel Maddow not only has the top-rated show on her network, MSNBC, but she had the number one news show of all cable networks last week beating Fox News and CNN.

•  Cody Wilson, who owns a business that distributes blueprints for untraceable 3-D printed guns, has been charged with sexually assaulting an underage girl in Texas. Clearly proving his innocence, Wilson fled the country for Taiwan.

• A Florida father was arrested for driving his son to a park so he could have sex with his girlfriend.

• American Idol alum and current The Voice judge, Kelly Clarkson, is getting her own talk show. According to reports, she'll be the lead-in for Ellen in many markets.

• A new, mature version of Batman, titled "Batman: Damned," depicts the caped crusader naked. And by naked, I mean full-frontal.

I won't post here, but I can share a glimpse of bat-butt. The new series is for the DC Black Label division.

Warner Brothers Teases In Advance Of JUSTICE LEAGUE Trailer

With a full trailer promised for Saturday, Warner Brothers started sharing teases for the upcoming Justice League flick.

Via Deadline:

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is set for a November 17 release. In addition to Affleck and Momoa, the DC superhero mash-up stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg, with Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Amber Heard (Mera), Jeremy Irons (Alfred) and J.K. Simmons (Commissioner Gordon), with Willem Dafoe, among many others, also appearing. The script is by Chris Terrio.

Here’s the official logline: Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

So far, we've had quickies for Jason Momoa's "Aquaman" and Ben Affleck's "Batman."

As GSN mentions, the ‘gay’ rumors stretch back to 1954, when a psychiatrist claimed that the comic books were ‘homosexual fantasies.’

Sneak Peek: "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice"

Warner Brothers dropped this sneak peek at Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice just two days ago and it's already racked up over 8 million views.

The two things of interest here (besides Henry Cavill, who is "of interest" at all times to me, so that's a given):

1. Batman is often seen in a tight jam. And he always gets out. But we rarely see him look this vulnerable. Why is this clip what WB wants us to see?

2. The anger in Superman's face is so intense you have to wonder "what up, Supes?" According to sources, we know there's kryptonite in the film, so did someone use it for a kind of mind-control over the Man of Steel? Or, is this a dream sequence?

The rest of the trailer will debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight.

Ben Affleck's Batman asks the Man of Steel in the just-released trailer for "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice."

The trailer is full of a images of Affleck both in and out of costume, the Batmobile and a face-off between the two title characters.

Note - no shot of Wonder Woman or Aquaman. Yet.

Check out this parody movie trailer for Man of Steel 2: The Secret is Out released by the French comedy channel It’s Big!

It features some serious heat between superheroes Batman and Superman.  Come on, we all suspected didn't we?

“Every hero has a secret,” the voiceover narrates. “But when it becomes too difficult to keep and the word starts to spread, they have to accept what they truly are.”

Ben Affleck chats with Jimmy Fallon on the Batman casting backlash

Sitting down with  Jimmy Fallon last night, Ben Affleck talked on being cast as Batman opposite Henry Cavill for the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film, and how producers tried to prepare him for the backlash they've seen on the internet whenever new Batman casting has been announced.

Sais Affleck: "I'm a big boy. They said just don't use the Internet for a couple of days. I handle s**t. I'm very tough."

"I saw the announcement; I look down on the first comment; the first one just goes, 'Nooooooooo!'"

"I told the kids 'We're gonna be luddites for a while.'"

Christian Bale visits Aurora shooting victims in hospital

Christian Bale is meeting with victims of Friday's mass shooting at an Aurora hospital Tuesday afternoon.

The pic above shows Christian Bale meeting with shooting victim Carey Rottman at Medical Center of Aurora in Colorado.

Bale plays Batman in the new movie 'The Dark Knight Rises,' the film that was playing when a gunman killed 12 people and wounded almost 60 at an Aurora movie theater Friday.

When he got word of the shooting, Bale said his heart went out to the victims.

In a statement released Saturday, Bale says, "Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."

Despite the injury, Rottman seems to be in good humor writing, "I am definitely feeling nothing but love and am ready to get started on this recovery! By the way, first 30 minutes of the dark knight were SICK!!"

Rottman has also posted photos of himself with Gov. John Hickenlooper and several members of the Denver Broncos.

Sunday, Rottman wrote, "Just got off the phone with my boy Payton Manning. What a great great guy. Thank you for the warm wishes Payton, I'll be rooting for you baller!!!"

Batman: Year One

From TV Guide: Featuring the voice talents of Southland's Ben McKenzie in the title role and Emmy winner Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) as grizzled cop James Gordon, Year One explores how these two valiant but troubled men battle internal and external demons as they form an uneasy alliance in their bid to clean up Gotham City.

As the story begins, Gordon and his pregnant wife have just moved to Gotham, while Wayne has returned to town after spending years abroad studying martial arts. Searching for a way to fight evil from the shadows, he finds his calling and his inspiration when a bat flies through a window at Wayne Manor. "He's a bit damaged," McKenzie says of his character. "But this is the way he chooses to try to find some sense of justice in a fundamentally unjust world. He's a bit battered and scarred, but in a sense that makes him stronger."

Meanwhile, tough-as-nails lady of the evening Selina Kyle (Eliza Dushku), infuriated by the new bat in town, makes her debut as Catwoman. (Dushku also stars in a Catwoman short film that's included on the DVD.) "It's actually a very intimate story," explains executive producer Bruce Timm. "It's more about street-level crime. There's very little larger-than-life stuff in it. There's no Batcave, no Batmobile, no Bat-signal. This is much more down-to-earth, very naturalistic."

I'm a fan of Ben McKenzie's work as well as Bryan Cranston.  And as many Randy Report readers know, I'm a bit of a comic book legend fan so I'm always interested in how these decades old stories get reinterpreted and explored.
