One In Three Americans Under-30 Say They Are Not 100% Heterosexual

A new survey from YouGov shows 29% of young Americans under age 18-29 cop to having at least some amount of bisexuality in them.

Following on from a similar study in the UK, YouGov asked people to place themselves on the sexuality scale.

Overall 78% of Americans say that they are completely heterosexual while 4% say that they are completely homosexual.

16% of American adults say that they fall somewhere in between. In this group the bulk (10%) say that they are more heterosexual than homosexual while 3% put themselves in the middle and another 3% say that they are predominantly homosexual.

While 80% of all Americans say that they are completely heterosexual or homosexual, only 66% of under-30s say the same.

29% of under-30s put themselves somewhere on the category of bisexuality.

The Heterosexuality Experiment

Intrepid YouTube contributor Joseph Costello has posted what he calls his "heterosexuality experiment."

Roaming the streets of Austin, Texas, Costello asks  folks if they would vote for a "an admitted heterosexual president."

It turns out a lot of homophobes don't even know the meaning of the word "heterosexual."

What a surprise...

LOGO TV: "Gay Lives of Straight Men"

With an announced premiere date of June 10th, LOGO will air a documentary - "Gay Lives of Straight Guys" - which will follow heterosexual men who work and/or play in what is often considered "gay" culture.

Following a hairstylist, a fashion designer, a straight personal trainer at a primarily gay gym, a straight man who plays football in a gay league, the show seems to demonstrate that hetero men can play with the gays and still come out alive.

Positive premise although I think it could send a wider message if it were on a different network since LOGO is watched primarily by gay men already. Not sure how many hetero folks will see the doc.  But you never know :)

From the producers:
A new generation of men is turning the tables on the catch phrase "That's so Gay!" feeling free to explore professions, friendships and lifestyles once considered strictly off-limits to the hetero-male.

In careers such as hairstyling and fashion design to personal appearance, straight dudes are finding a new freedom to express their true talents in areas often reserved for gay men, making friends for the first time across the sexual divide and discovering a new emotional freedom.

"Gay Lives of Straight Guys" is documentary that explores these changing attitudes and more through the compelling and intriguing stories of men brave enough to break down barriers and become pioneers in the melting pot of cultures.

The trailer seems to indicate there's plenty of eye-candy throughout the film.
