In anticipation of authorizing the release of the now-infamous "Nunes memo," Donald Trump took to Twitter to attack the top folks at the Justice Department and FBI.
You know, those people Trump himself appointed.
From The Washington Post:
The Nunes memo is a document created by the staff of House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) that alleges the FBI abused its surveillance authority, particularly when it sought a secret court order to monitor a former Trump campaign adviser. The FBI and the Justice Department had lobbied strenuously against its release. On Wednesday, the FBI had said it was “gravely concerned” that key facts were missing from the memo.
The top Leadership and Investigators of the FBI and the Justice Department have politicized the sacred investigative process in favor of Democrats and against Republicans - something which would have been unthinkable just a short time ago. Rank & File are great people!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 2, 2018
All should appreciate the FBI speaking up. I wish more of our leaders would. But take heart: American history shows that, in the long run, weasels and liars never hold the field, so long as good people stand up. You mean the people you hired and put in place, solely for the sake of protecting you? How does that work? https://t.co/C5vvjzPtYN— Mike Signorile (@MSignorile) February 2, 2018
You appointed them; "THE BEST, THE SMARTEST, THE GREATEST" YOU ARE A little man #DaffyDonaldTrump #SoCalledPresident #LiarInChief— Alan Ariano (@AlanAriano) February 2, 2018
Maybe I can reach the #MAGA loyalists out there with this small nugget of common sense.— Sir John 🔥 (@BruhManInSoCal) February 2, 2018
One doesn't work this hard to discredit an investigation that is destined to prove their innocence. #RemoveNunes #SOTU #Resist #TrumpRussia #Traitors #Treason
Not a good look by the House GOP to release cherry picked excerpts through friendly media outlets in order to build a narrative. Only reinforces the partisan look to all this. A truly nonpartisan act would have been a complete release without cherry picks— Chuck Todd (@chucktodd) February 2, 2018
I keep seeing people write that the memo being released early to Fox News and the Washington Examiner feeds the narrative of this all being a partisan sham. This isn't a narrative. This is a partisan sham, and has been from the start.— Ezra Klein (@ezraklein) February 2, 2018

A year attacking the Steele dossier.
A month hyping that the dossier started the whole FBI investigation.
Weeks hyping that they have a memo (a memo!) that will finally prove it!
So... is there some other memo?
Because this one says it was Papadopoulos, not the dossier.
That’s it? Dishonest and misleading memo wrecked the House intel committee, destroyed trust with Intelligence Community, damaged relationship with FISA court, and inexcusably exposed classified investigation of an American citizen. For what? DOJ & FBI must keep doing their jobs.
