Goal keeper Tim Howard from fund-raising calendar shoot "12 Shades of Blue" |
While the USA may have lost today (in what Americans would call 'overtime'), Team USA did everyone proud.
All three goals scored in the game came very late, during the extra time period.
And then there was the man of the day, goal keeper Tim Howard, who was trending on Twitter as he made history with 16 saves - the most by a goal keeper in World Cup history.
Tweets like "Tim Howard drafted by the Justice League of America" and "Tim Howard for President" were common all over Twitter.
According to sources, there were 1.8 million tweets about Tim Howard during the game.
