The Handmaids Protest Brett Kavanaugh Confirmation Hearings

(image via Twitter)
It's a rollicking time this morning as protesters showed up for the first day of confirmation hearings for Donald Trump's nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court, Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

One of the most visually prominent groups - a protest organized by Demand Justice which features women dressed in clothing from the hit TV show, The Handmaid’s Tale.

In a statement to The Hill, the group made clear they were denouncing Kavanaugh's "anti-abortion, anti-healthcare and anti-woman" views.

“Brett Kavanaugh is an extremist ideologue who, if confirmed to the Supreme Court, will take away women’s basic rights,” the groups’ statement read.
