Donald Trump Becomes President-Elect

Republican Donald Trump has become president-elect after last night's election and will become the 45th president of the United States.

Donald Trump won 289 electoral votes to Hillary Clinton's 218, thus winning the Electoral College.

The states of Michigan (Trump currently leads by 16, 236 with 5% of the vote out) and New Hampshire (Clinton currently leads with 1,365 votes with 2% of the vote out) have not been declared for either candidate yet, but the remaining 20 electoral votes won't change the outcome of this election.

Hillary Clinton currently leads in the popular vote by 165,481 (Hillary Clinton - 59,344,168; Trump - 59,178,867). Those numbers will adjust as there's still a sizeable number of votes to be counted in California. Clinton currently leads there by 2,505,694 votes) with only 65% of the vote counted.

In the end, this election will end with one candidate winning the Electoral College by a small margin, and the other candidate being the choice of more Americans by a margin of perhaps 3 million votes.

What that means is we clearly have a divided country. 

But it's the Electoral College that matters.

America has a new president-elect, and may we all wish him the best that he may be his very best.
