Las Vegas: Fab new restaurant GIADA at The Cromwell

I spent a fab evening at Giada De Laurentiis' new self-titled restaurant GIADA last night. The highly anticipated foodie emporium recently opened at The Cromwell, and I highly recommend you make a point to get there next time you're out and about on the Las Vegas Strip.

The service is impeccable. Period. You do not wait or want for anything. The decor is very stylish but comfortable.

The food was exactly what you would expect of Miss Giada - a mix of Italian cuisine influenced by Giada's own California upbringing. Comfortable but definitely a heightened experience, it's hard to imagine making a wrong choice as you peruse the menu.

My group started with several antipasti including the Bacon Wrapped Dates, Clams Casino, Tomato and Strawberry Jam Crostini plus several salads. Entrees that made it to the table included Giada's signature Lemon Spaghetti, the Veal Chop and the whole Roasted Chicken. Everything was tasty and just the right portion.

And, Giada provides a personal spice presentation which contains flavors such as lemon, sea salt, chili powder and basil to custom season your dishes.

Desserts, like the lemon ricotta cookies and sorbets, made for the perfect ending.

But the real highlight was Giada, herself, coming out to say 'hello' to our table. She was very gracious, warm and chatted for several minutes with us, answering questions about the menu and restaurant along the way. At the end of the evening, she joined us for a pic to celebrate the night.

I should also mention we never felt rushed to finish and leave after dining. We felt we had all the time we wanted to enjoy the gorgeous ambiance and fab food.

Thanks to everyone at GIADA for the great time!
