Poll: Obama up 9 points after Bin Laden capture

A Washington Post/Pew Research Center poll released Tuesday has the president’s approval rating at 56 percent, up nine points from Post and Pew surveys conducted in April, riding on the strength of higher ratings for Obama’s handling of the war in Afghanistan and of terrorism.

Approval of his handling of Afghanistan was at 44 percent last month, but in the new poll, conducted Monday, 60 percent of Americans said they approve of how he’s dealing with the issue.

On managing the threat of terror, Obama does even better, with 69 percent of those surveyed saying they approve, up from 56 percent last month.
